Spotlights and Activities
These interesting and fun sessions are led by trained personnel and are one hour in duration. They will assist learning by challenging young people to think about daily life outside their normal environment, and will consider issues such as decision making, friendships, self esteem, communication and trust; all from a Christian perspective. Many sessions take place out doors using our centres natural woodland, and/or specially constructed Spotlight areas.
For educational groups
Sessions are primarily aimed at Key Stage 2/Primary 4-7 pupils but can be adapted to older children. These sessions consider and support aspects of curriculum in an outdoor learning environment.
For youth groups
Thought provoking sessions contain a mixture of physical, spiritual and intellectual challenge.
A review section or series of review sessions can be added into your programme to highlight new learning which has occurred during the residential. These can consist of either a few minutes of discussion or if required a much more in depth review or series. Reviews draw out strengths and weaknesses of your groups team work. The areas which we will highlight include group dynamics, social interaction, own/group behaviour and the importance of communication using a wide range of facilitation techniques. The reviews will be built into the programme to maximise the new learning.
