Summit Centre is undergoing a £4m redevelopment project that will offer 100 bed ensuite residential accommodation, meeting and function rooms, a Café, an Outdoor play area, Gym and Fitness Centre. Alongside this we will run a wide variety of outdoor education and adventurous activities for all ages. With all this work going on it’s a very exciting time and we can’t wait to open our doors to everyone.
Café on the Rock will open in February 2018 and will have a modern yet rustic feel serving a range of local and organic (where possible) snacks, beverages and small meals. The Café will have a warm relaxed atmosphere including comfortable sofa’s, a wood burning fire and large windows overlooking a secluded garden and kids outdoor play area and to the hills beyond. From a section of the café you will also be able to view our large indoor climbing wall and watch the excitement from a comfy chair!
The Gym and Fitness Centre
Gym on the Rock will be open from May 2018 offering a friendly and diverse gym experience. If you are new to gyms and fitness, just wanting a social or a regular gym experience then we will have something for you. With a variety of modern equipment, machines and facilities alongside our trained team, we will help you reach your goals. The fitness centre will adjoin the gym and will be used for classes, instructed sessions with the option of other activities (dance/circuits/yoga etc).
Our Residential Accommodation will open from June 2018 and cater for a range of groups, schools, clubs, families, churches and individuals. Sleeping a maximum of 100 people the accommodation will be split into self-contained sections for smaller groups or combined for larger parties. The 26 bedrooms will all be ensuite in a bunk house style and have fully catered facilities with disabled access.
From summer 2018 onwards Summit Centre will have two purpose-built meeting rooms with views across the hills and garden. The rooms will be available for hire and will be ideal for corporate business meetings, training sessions, as a meeting space for local groups, churches and functions. Rooms will be equipped with a projector, screen and speakers. Catering can be provided and tailored for each groups requirements.
Outdoor Play Area
As part of the redevelopment we are building an Outdoor play area for the younger kids. It will be themed on the mining heritage of the local area and will include pulleys, winches, digging as well as a climbing frame and slide. There will also be a dressing up area for the children to fully engage in the experience. The play area will be set in the cafe garden towards the back of the site.
