Hours: 10 hours per week
Tuesdays 4.30 pm – 9.30 pm
Wednesdays 4.30 pm – 9.30 pm
Salary: £20,840 pro rata per annum
Contract: Permanent (subject to a 6 month probationary period, satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check)

We are looking for a motivated individual who will positively and efficiently serve our guests and represent Rock UK in our busy reception area, gym, climbing wall and cafe. You will at all times appropriately represent Rock UK’s Christian ethos and values to our customers. Duties will include greeting visitors, supporting them with check in and waivers, floor walking and ensuring that health and safety and cleanliness is maintained at all times.

You will need to have good interpersonal skills including an excellent telephone manner with the ability to sound polite and cheerful even under duress. A climbing wall award (Training) Mountain Training and a First Aid Qualification are both essential. Experience of working with climbing walls, gyms and school and youth organisations would be an advantage.

We are looking for a part-time Office Administrator to join our busy admin team at Frontier Centre, Northamptonshire.  The role holder will support the smooth running of activity provision, through well organised administrative systems including generating activity schedules, staff rotas, allocating staff and resources to Rock UK’s booking system and liaising with potential customers via phone, email and in person. The significant direct customer-facing aspects of the role require the post-holder to appropriately represent Rock UK’s Christian ethos and values to groups of all faiths and none.

The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and administrative skills with accuracy and attention to detail as well as good interpersonal skills.  Experience with on-line booking systems and invoicing is highly desirable although full training will be provided.

Location: Frontier Centre (Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire)

We are looking to appoint a full-time Centre Assistant at our outdoor activity centre in Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire.

The successful applicant will be responsible for giving welcome talks to groups on arrival and will be the first point of contact during their stay. Working under the direction of the Facilities Manager they will help to ensure the comfort and safety of our guests, and that the centre is well presented. They will provide practical assistance in the preparation of buildings and facilities, and carry out physical tasks and routine checks around the centre. They will be included on the out of hours on-call rota (including weekends every 6 weeks). Applicants will need to have excellent verbal communication skills, practical and problem-solving skills, a good level of physical fitness and hold a valid driving licence.

Location: The role is based at our Head Office at Frontier Centre (Irthlingborough, Northamptonshire) but will involve regular travel to UK centres; Northants, Kent, Scottish Borders & South Wales.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Manager working in a national outdoor education organisation.  Reporting to the CEO, the post holder will provide high quality operational service delivery, ensuring there is a corporate approach to training, systems and process delivery.  Responsibilities across Rock UK will include IT hardware and software, telephony, updating of the risk register, procurement, Health and Safety, insurance, fleet, policy and project management.  He/she will provide quality training and support to the admin teams across the centres which will include ensuring that the administrators can genuinely represent the Christian ethos and values of Rock UK to both Christian and non-Christian groups.  We are looking for an experienced manager who has strong interpersonal, team, project and process skills and is fully conversant with current IT hardware and software environment. Sales system experience would be an advantage.

We are currently looking to recruit a Maintenance Technician and an Administrator at our Whithaugh Park Adventure centre. This could be ideal for a couple, or individuals, looking to move to the area and join the close-knit, family orientated community of Newcastleton set in the stunning Scottish Borders.

 

Maintenance Technician

Hours:  37.5 per week

Salary: £22,525 per annum

Contract Term: This is a permanent contract subject to satisfactory references, a satisfactory PVG check and a 6-month probationary period

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to deliver the highest standards of maintenance, repair and refurbishment of buildings, equipment, facilities and grounds around the centre, for the safety and benefit of our guests and staff. Reporting to the Assistant Centre Director, you will also guide and supervise the Facilities Assistant. You will need to work both independently and under direction, hold a full driving licence, have experience of plumbing, electrics and indoor and outdoor property maintenance. An understanding or appreciation of environmental issues is desirable.

You will need to have an understanding of Rock UK’s Christian ethos and a willingness to work within an environment that seeks to promote that ethos.

 

Administrator

Hours: 37.5 per week

Salary: £22,525 per annum

Contract Term: This is a permanent contract subject to satisfactory references, a satisfactory PVG check and a 6-month probationary period

We are looking for a full-time Administrator to join our busy admin team.  If you have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, this role could be for you. The successful applicant will deal with all aspects of the bookings process for both residential groups and day visitors attending our centre.  You will liaise with customers by phone, email and in person, to take bookings, create programmes for their visit and answer all enquiries. Attention to detail and a friendly telephone manner are essential.  Experience with on-line booking systems and invoicing is highly desirable although full training will be provided.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Chief Instructor at Rock UK’s Whithaugh Park outdoor activity centre in the Scottish Borders.  The Chief Instructor will lead, motivate, train and develop a team of high-quality instructors and trainees, ensuring best-practice and excellence in activity training and delivery. As a key member of the Centre Leadership Team, he/she will be able to clearly communicate our Christian ethos, objectives, mission and vision to staff and guests and have overall responsibility for the local management, delivery and development of the centre’s activity provision within an overall Rock UK activity framework

We are looking for motivated individuals to lead and deliver high quality adventure activity sessions at Frontier Centre.   As a key member of the activity team, you will be able to clearly communicate our Christian ethos and values to our guests.  You will need excellent verbal communication skills, be able to build rapport with a variety of group types and work well as part of a team.

This role is a training position which is part of the Rock UK Instructor Career Path.  It includes dedicated training days and funding for the cost of nationally recognised awards. You will need to hold the following qualifications and experience: be familiar with running sessions within the context of outdoor education, Paddlesport Leader (or Paddlesport Instructor and working towards Paddlesport Leader) and one of the following: Mountain Leader (summer), Rock Climbing Instructor or British Cycling MTB Award Level 2. Continued training, dedicated development time and financial support will be given to help you pursue qualifications listed but not yet held.

You will need to have experience of leading and motivating a staff team as well as strong interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.  The successful applicant will ideally need to hold the following qualifications: ML (S), RCI, British Canoeing Coaching Award – Open Canoe or White Water Kayak and nationally recognised Mountain Biking Leader.
