Salary £18,000-£19,000 per annum

Contract Term Permanent contract subject to satisfactory references, a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service check and a 3 month probationary period

Location Summit Centre, South Wales (with occasional UK travel)

We are looking to appoint a Senior Instructor to work alongside the Head of Activities and Leisure, to train and develop instructors and trainees, ensuring best-practice and excellence in delivery of activities. You will actively deliver Rock UK’s Christian mission, aims and objectives in an adventurous context and develop personally as part of the activity team.

The successful applicant will hold relevant qualifications: ML (Summer), RCI, BC Level 2 Coach (Canoe/Kayak) inc Moderate Water endorsement Canoe or Kayak, 4* Canoe or Kayak, Local Cave and Mine Leader Level 1.

Cafe on the Rock is at the heart of Summit Centre, a multi activity and adventure centre. We are looking for someone to join our growing team following the centre’s recent £4m redevelopment.

Various part-time permanent positions are available, subject to a satisfactory DBS check, references and a 3 month probationary period.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a number of experienced and qualified instructors to be part of an exciting new era in the history of our newly refurbished Summit Centre.

You will be part of a team delivering a range of activities both in the climbing wall, around the Summit Centre site and off site making the most of the natural environment in the Brecon Beacons and Welsh Valleys. With the expansion of the site you will be instrumental in developing new sessions and offsite activities.

As part of the Summit Centre team you will be a role model for outstanding Christian service which constantly exceeds guest expectations. You will foster a positive and welcoming environment and be pro-active in developing relationships with the users of the centre, resolving customer issues and satisfying customers in various situations whilst delivering Rock UK’s trading and charitable objectives and sensitively demonstrating our Christian ethos.

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Activity Instructor at our Carroty Wood centre in Kent

As Senior Instructor at Carroty Wood you will report to and assist the Chief Instructor with delivering a wide range of adventurous activities to groups and individuals. You will actively deliver Rock UK’s Christian mission, aims and objectives in an adventurous context and develop personally as part of the activity team.

The successful applicants will hold relevant qualifications: SPA, BCU Level 2 including moderate water, 4* Kayak or Canoe, GNAS, ML(S), First Aid.

Full Time 37.5 hours per week. Based at Carroty Wood, Tonbridge, Kent (with occasional UK travel).

Salary: £18,000 per annum plus £1,500 per annum South East Weighting allowance

We currently have a vacancy for a Lead Instructor at our Whithaugh Park centre in the beautiful Scottish Borders.

Applicants should hold at least two of the following qualifications:

Summer Mountain Leader, Single Pitch Award (SPA), UKCC Level 2 Canoe & Kayak Coach or BC Level 2 Mountain Biking.

You will have experience of leading and motivating a team of instructors and trainees.
This is a permanent, full-time position.

Salary starts at £15,268 per annum with increments added for specific qualifications.

We are currently looking for a couple of freelance instructors to supplement our permanent team of instructors at Summit Centre.

Freelance staff are involved in instructing both in the climbing wall and on our new Aerial Adventure (High Ropes) course, floor-walking and covering reception.

We have opportunities available for both occasional and regular shifts.

Freelance staff should have an interest in climbing and sharing their passion for this sport with others.  They should have completed their CWA or SPA training.  Support is available to help gain the necessary qualifications.
