They miss out on the everyday experiences many of us take: warm clothes, school trips, or simply having friends over for tea. At Rock UK, we believe every child – regardless of their circumstances – deserves the chance to experience a life-changing residential at one of our life-changing outdoor adventure centres. Since launching the Rock UK Bursary Fund in 2013, we’ve helped over 2,000 children take part in a residential stay, ensuring they don’t miss out on these vital opportunities.
However, demand for bursary places has grown rapidly over the past few years and, at the present time (March 2026) the Bursary Fund has been temporarily suspended. Until the fund is reopened, Rock UK is offering any school looking for a Bursary an opportunity to raise some funds for their trip. Rock UK has been running Turn Your School Orange (TYSO) for several years now, and due to the suspension of the Bursary, has made a few changes.
We would like to suggest that YOU run a TYSO event/day at your school to raise funds for YOUR children coming on a residential. There are several ways in which you can do this. Here are a few suggestions:
– an orange mufti day.
– an orange cake sale.
– an orange quiz evening – we provide the questions – you provide the fun!
If you are interested in doing this, please contact supportus@rockuk.org and we will send you the necessary information. Once you’ve finished your orange event/day, please send us some photos and the amount raised. We will then send you a special certificate and some Rock UK goodies.
