Fun and Adventure at Rock UK’s Holiday Clubs

“I had the best time of my life at holiday club, this summer. I loved the activities, some were scary but the instructors helped me to be brave and so I tried them all!"

During the summer and Easter school breaks we run holiday clubs for those living close to a Rock UK centre! You see, we really do not like to miss an opportunity to bring outdoor adventure to young people!

We have welcomed hundreds of children into our holiday clubs over the years, helping them to have adventurous fun in the great outdoors and giving them a chance to learn more about our Christian faith.

“Wow, what a week they [our children] have had – thank you so much.  It has been the best week of their summer holiday – they will certainly be coming back.”  Sarah and Richard, parents of children who attend Carroty Wood’s holiday club.

At a Rock UK holiday club, young people make new friends, catch up with old ones whilst trying out a wide range of outdoor and indoor activities at our centres. The week long programme includes activities such as, archery, raft building, bushcraft, mountain biking and time is also set aside for interactive Bible stories.

“I had the best time of my life at holiday club this summer. I loved the activities, some were scary but the instructors helped me to be brave and so I tried them all! I learnt that I don’t have to be the same as everyone else. God loves me for whom I am, not for what I do.” Maya, 8 years old.

The great news is that any child, regardless of their ability, can participate and enjoy our holiday clubs. We asked Claire, whose 10 year old daughter Evie attended holiday club this summer, to tell us how she had benefitted from her time at Rock UK.

“Whilst at Rock UK this summer, my daughter grew in confidence – even though she is still fearful of water, with lots of encouragement and support from the instructors she managed to get onto the water in a boat! This is a massive achievement for Evie and I am incredibly proud of her. She is now Head Girl at school, I am certain this is because she learnt about leadership and grew in confidence so much over the summer – all down to her experiences at Rock UK! Thank you!”
