Saturday 24th February was a big day for our Summit Centre in the South Wales valleys, as we officially opened our new cafe and outdoor play area!
Over 1,000 people came to enjoy the family fun day with free activities. The highlight of the opening ceremony was a performance by the Welsh choir – Only Boys Aloud – of Britain’s Got Talent fame.
Staff from across the UK came to support the Summit Centre team as they prepared and hosted this amazing event. Visitors were thrilled to have the chance to try out our on-site activities.
Our themed “Welsh Mine” adventure playground was a great hit with younger children, many of whom took part in our “Name our Miner” competition.
The Cafe was very busy, with people keen to sample a freshly made coffee, try some tasty soup or munch on delicious cake. We will be able to burn off all those “extra” cake calories at our Gym and Fitness Suite when it opens later on in the year!
Our Summit Centre continues to be redeveloped and the focus is now on the accommodation block due for completion this summer. Find out more about our Summit Centre
